It is with eternal gratitude that The Future Perfect presents For LA with Love, a special exhibition during Frieze LA 2025. In the wake of the catastrophic wildfires that devastated Southern California, The Future Perfect has taken this opportunity to reflect on our California home and heritage by curating a special exhibition of works that speak directly to transformation, regeneration and growth. 

Central to this showcase will be works from Willett and LGS Studio, artists whose lives were profoundly impacted by the recent fires. In its focus on these artists, whose work speaks directly to the endless innovation and exceptional style associated with California, the exhibition intends to be nothing less than affirmatively declarative, a bold statement of purpose in the face of seemingly insurmountable devastation.

The works on view from Willett were originally created for his own home, which was lost to the Altadena fire. These early pieces, which mark the beginning of Willett’s journey as a designer, were conceived for the rhythms of daily life, and shaped by the experiences of the artist and his family as they lived among the work. Through them, Willett came to see design as an ongoing conversation between space and the objects within it. This personal connection lends them a rare intimacy, which is evidenced by their adaptability, warmth, and ease. Made to feel inherently open, and designed for living, they invite play and adaptation, engendering a sense of home wherever they land.

The Los Angeles-based LGS Studio led by Thomas Renaud and Noel Hennessy will present a new collection of ceramics titled Mesozoic, which combines unique hand-building and finishing techniques. The Mesozoic series is the result of the studio’s ongoing exploration in paleobotany, the study of the ancient flora and fauna that came before us. These dream-like botanical expressions represent memorialization, stewardship and discovery. We will also be introducing the sculptural works of Los Angeles-based artist Amir Nikravan.

For LA with Love will be an unprecedented coalescence of community and love around the things we value, and of which we strive to advocate the importance: art, discourse and unmitigated enjoyment.
