LGS Studio

Helmed by Thomas Renaud and Noel Hennessy, LGS Studio is carving out its own path in contemporary ceramics and lighting. Every piece that emerges from LGS’ Los Angeles studio holds the imprint of not only the makers but of an entire philosophy rooted in experimentation, reverence for nature, and a conscious departure from the relentless pace of consumerism.

LGS Studio’s work is not of one person, one voice, but rather a rich duality. As a self-taught ceramicist, Renaud leads with instinct, drawing on years of trial and error. Hennessy studied painting, photography, and sculpture at School of The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and is influenced by geological formations and imagined civilizations of the future. Over time the studio has built up a reserve of technical knowledge, a discipline that keeps their process grounded even as they chase new ideas.

With two distinct approaches, their visions converge into something unique and layered. In this harmonious duality, their work achieves a dynamic balance, equal parts intuition and precision. Their work isn’t static; it’s a living practice, constantly evolving as Renaud and Hennessy refine their approach through what they describe as a “creative push and pull, filtering through two distinct lenses.”

Experimentation for LGS Studio isn’t a means to an end—it’s the heartbeat of their craft. The duo constantly seeks out new materials, textures, and methods, pushing their work into uncharted territory. Their practice is a dance between experimentation and mastery, a balance of intuition and technique. Working with clay—a medium both temperamental and forgiving— demands a willingness to fail, to let go of control. In LGS’s hands, clay becomes a playground, a place to explore and rediscover.

The studio has worked with a roster of distinguished architects and designers here in the U.S. and abroad, creating commissions for high end hospitality projects and private residences.

LGS Studio has been featured in publications, including Architectural Digest, Wallpaper, Dezeen, Vogue Living, FvF, Monocle, Flaunt, Domino, The LA Times, GRAY Magazine, and The Strategist.
