Moon on the Lake is a table crafted using the traditional casting techniques of Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. It employs an intuitive and sculptural approach in its production. The bronze legs of this table are based on a distorted thick ellipse, featuring organically connected openings. These openings exhibit different expressions depending on the viewing angle, evoking the image of the moon reflected on a lake. Simultaneously, there is a harmonious balance between the weighty feel of the bronze casting and its visual lightness, and the design seamlessly connects to the tabletop support. The tabletop is crafted from Hokkaido-sourced ash and oak wood, available in both round and oval shapes. Particularly in the oval type, the assembly involves offsetting the tabletop relative to the central axis of the legs, introducing a new dynamic to the living space.
