BRICK, a collection of works from Dutch artist Floris Wubben, explores Floris’ interest in and connection to the history of brickmaking. For this collection, he has used clay that is sourced from the Dollard Polder, an area located in the Northern Netherlands, and is ideal for extrusion due to its naturally greasy texture, which allows for precise shaping and molding. With cartographic surfaces that have been smoothly finished to showcase the color and interior texture of the clay and concrete elements, Floris’ Brick Tables are as visually engaging as they are materially significant.
