Expanding the existing collection of colourful speckled textiles, Atom is a coarse bouclé with a seemingly random pattern and no apparent repeat. Two voluminous bouclé yarns - one unicoloured and one containing up to three shades - comprise the weft and work through a monochrome warp. The result is a textile that has a natural uncontrived appearance with dots of colour randomly scattered across the surface. The bouclé yarn gives a three-dimensional aspect to the textile which is offered in a palette that reflects Simons’ unique and distinctive sense of colour. A group of stronger options plays with bold contrasts in the designer’s signature style: powder blue, deep red and taupe plays on a black background, or a brilliant smattering of canary yellow and grey combine on a bright green base. A series of neutral combinations make more classic options, filled with a vibrancy and depth.
