BRICK, a collection of works from Dutch artist Floris Wubben, explores Floris’ interest in and connection to the history of brickmaking. For this collection, he has used clay that is sourced from the Dollard Polder, an area located in the Northern Netherlands, and is ideal for extrusion due to its naturally greasy texture, which allows for precise shaping and molding. Floris’ Brick Stools possess a highly developed dimensionality, wherein multiple visual axes are molded as though the visible world was a sculptural material.
