“Blumenspiel”, designed by RaR, consists of five flowers, made of tin. The series was inspired by the oldest literary society in Europe, Jeux Floraux, where the winners of this poetry competition were awarded a silver flower: a violet, wild rose, marigold, amaranth, or lily. RaR (Beate Reinheimer & Ulrike Rehm) translated five images by graphic designer Frits Kredel from “Das Kleine Blumenbuch” into three-dimensional work, all transformed into elongated shapes that seem to defy the rules of gravity. All flowers have different sizes and stand on a pedestal, referring to the former tin soldiers.
